Modernization of the Mangualde - Guarda section, with around 86km of track over the current channel, with the construction of a more significant bypass near Abrunhosa, including the following work:
- Modernization of the track superstructure - complete replacement of the track superstructure using multi-purpose concrete monoblock sleepers and 60 E1 rails;
- Changing the layout of Gouveia, Fornos de Algodres, Celorico da Beira, Pinhel, Vila Franca das Naves and Guarda stations to ensure the crossing of 750-metre-long trains and optimize operating conditions;
- Refurbishment of stations and platforms, including elevation, widening and extension of platforms, buildings and accessibility;
- Stabilization of the track platform where necessary;
- Stabilization and occasional reinforcement of slopes;
- Rehabilitation/reformulation and/or installation of the drainage system;
- Construction of infrastructure to support the signaling and telecommunications component;
- Implementation of RCT+TP;
- Adaptation of fixed electrical traction installations, where necessary;
- Reconstruction/adaptation of buildings and technical rooms.
