Serralves - Museum's West Building and Pink House

Fundação de Serralves

Casa Cor de Rosa was renovated to improve its capacity for large exhibitions. The refurbishment included

- Reformulation of the sloping and flat roofs;
- Treatment of window frames and shutters;
- Treatment of stone and wood floors and walls;
- Chipping and re-plastering the façades;
- Treatment of interior walls and painting;
- Redesign of all active and passive security systems;
- Refurbishment of the air conditioning system;
- Installation of a new elevator;

Construction of the West Building of the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, with a gross area of 4203.84m², three floors with a free ceiling height of 3m (basement), 5m (floor 0) and 5.80m (floor 1).
The proposed layout and articulation minimizes the impact of the new building on the garden, both because of the area it occupies and because of the trees to be kept.
