Modernization of the Covilhã - Guarda section of the Beira Baixa Line, a distance of 46kms.

 

The service includes the complete renovation of 36km of track (10km had already been renewed in 2009), electrification along the entire length of the section, remodeling of stations and stops (Caria, Belmonte, Maçainhas, Benespera and Barracão), drainage system implementation and slope stabilization works, the installation of Electronic Signaling, Telecommunications and Convel, rehabilitation of 9 railway bridges, automation of 18 level crossings and the construction of a junction with the Beira Alta Line.
