2020-05-02
The 2nd of May 2021 will be marked in history on the Beira Baixa Line, with the reopening of the commercial circulation of passenger and goods rail transport on the Covilhã - Guarda section.

This is a historic landmark that marks the restoration of the rail link between two important cities in the Beiras region, through the Beira Baixa Line, which was interrupted for a period of about 12 years.
The modernization of the Covilhã - Guarda section encompasses the electrification of the section, the reinforcement and rehabilitation of the six century-old metal bridges, the increase in safety conditions and the construction of a juction between the Beira Alta Line and the Beira Baixa Line.
