World of Wine inaugurated in Vila Nova de Gaia

Hilodi, a company of The Fladgate Partnership group, inaugurated the World of Wine (WOW), a tourism project that celebrates the Port Wine industry, on July 31st.
The World of Wine is a block in the historic area of Vila Nova de Gaia, with more than 30,000 m², and includes 5 museums, 8 restaurants and cafes, as well as a wine school, representing an investment of more than 100 million euros. The project, signed by Broadway Malyan, contemplates five different areas including the Wine Experience, Cork Experience, Porto Through the Ages, the Fashion & Design Museum and the History of Drinking Vessels area, all integrated in a project that combines the recovery of the cellars and historic buildings with new architectural forms, developed around a new public square with several restaurants and shops. In this project, afaplan provided the services of Construction Management and Supervision, Safety and Health Coordination and Environmental Control and Management in excavations, peripheral containments and structures in Areas 1 (Porto Region Across The Ages), 2 (Cork Experience) and 3 (Wine Experience) of Phase 1, in the architecture works and specialties of the general spaces and the Museum (Porto Fashion & Fabric Museum), Restaurant (Mira Mira Fashion Dining) and the Store (Porto Wine) of Phase 2A, and in the architecture works and specialties from the general spaces and from the Factory and the Chocolate Museum (The Chocolate Story) of Phase 3.
