afaplan coordinates Alcântara-Terra Station Reformulation
2020-06-04
afaplan will be the company responsible for the Management and Supervision of the Reformulation of platforms and accessibility to the Alcântara-Terra station, which belongs to the Cintura Line and responsibility of Infraestruturas de Portugal.

This intervention, which will start on June 8, will allow the improvement of pedestrian circulation conditions and accessibility, namely for users with reduced mobility, as well as the increase in comfort and safety, in a station that moves more than one million passengers a year.
The project foresees the execution of the following works:
- Lowering and leveling of the Line III platform to the elevation of 1.10m above the rails' rolling plane, thus taking advantage of the greater width of this platform for access to the train;
- Improved access to Lines II and III, including crossing between lines and ramps on both sides of the route;
- Demolition of existing buildings and removal of the roofs adjacent to the main roof, which was renewed in 2018 with afaplan Management and Supervision;
- Placement of tactile floors - safety strip and caution strip;
- New lighting;
- Application of urban furniture - benches and paper / ashtrays;
- Installation of new public information signs.
