The erosion of the left wall of Macarretane dam was accelerated by recent floods, which have eroded much of the soil nearby the wall downstream.
In order to protect the wall, it was decided to execute this temporary emergency work, while mobilizing funds for a definitive work.
The work consisted in about 3000m³ of cracked rock of 500/700mm, according to the attached cross-section profile, preceded by the placement of geotextile (weight of 200 g/m²).
Initially we proceeded to a cleaning of the existing earth mass, followed by the excavation for the desired angle. The slope with a length of about 35m and a height of 8m was executed by about 30° inclination.
